EDUCATIONAL PRINCIPLES
Our educational
program focuses on the parallel learning of English and Hungarian with native
speakers.
From the age of 2,
children receive professionally structured language education, fully integrated
into the everyday life of the pre-school. The program is based on having two
instructors, one of which only speaks English with the children, leading them
through each day’s activities. Our goal is to provide the basis for
bilingualism, helping the children to acquire a basic vocabulary in English and
to practice dialogues. All this allows their initial passive English skills to
be activated at the end of the pre-school years.
Daily activities
at Kikelet are carefully planned with the intention of nurturing
the children’s inborn creativity, vivid imagination and inexhaustible
curiosity. Options of activities are always open to them to stimulate their
decision-making, problem-solving, planning and communication skills.
The realization of
these pedagogical goals is based on our professional teachers with many years
of practical experience, as well as our committed, enthusiastic staff.
The years spent in
pre-school help to shape a child’s life and play an important role in his/her
psychological development. In order to allow sufficient time for the individual
needs of the children and to provide them with personalized attention and care,
group size has been limited to 12 children.
We place great
emphasis on the development of dexterity and use methods such as bead-stringing
to further this. Our gym and outdoor playgrounds are well-equipped to encourage
physical exercise. Attention is also paid to music education, particularly to
the sense of rhythm. Music and verse are always an integral part of the day.
Through role play and children’s stories, pupils are transported into an
imaginary world, expanding their vocabulary through songs and poems.
Each child is encouraged to
progress and grow at his or her individual pace, accepted at his or her own
developmental level and encouraged to grow from there. The teaching units are
theme- and play-oriented. This method of integrating play into the educational
program helps children progress continuously. We do everything we can to help
the children develop healthy self-confidence, and we promote creativity and
openness while broadening their interests and offering them rewarding
experiences.
We sincerely believe that
this family-oriented, loving, healthy and cheerful environment will help each
child to develop into a helpful, creative and success-oriented adult.
The efforts of our teachers
are supported by a speech therapist, develop pedagogues and a child
psychologist. In addition, the children’s development is observed by a
pediatrician and nurse.
